Hello, I am seeking any information regarding the Stenseth (or Stenset) family in Eiker (Ovre Eiker) Norway. My Grandfather, Gustav Stenseth immigrated to the US in 1907. I know he married Anna Edit Karlson in North Dakota and they had 5 children. I'm looking for info on Gustav's family in Norway. Who were his parents, siblings, where are they buried, the name of the church they attended, what town they lived near.....any information. Thank you for any information you can provide. Thank you, Leslie Anthony

A Gustav C Stenseth, in the North Dakota vital records death index, is given a birth date of 12 Oct 1885 and death date of 3 Feb 1922, and dying in Ransom county. Is this your guy?

North Dakota marriage database gives his marriage date as 24 Aug 1914 occurring in Ransom county,

Gustav died in an electrical accident. He had been manager of a local telephone company Liberty & Moore Telephone co, for 10 years and was working to correct a problem when the accident occurred.

Gustav Kristians. Stenseth migrated to North Dakota from Norway on 3 May 1907. Kristian or Christian is likely his father's name.

It appears your family were workers in cellulose factories in Norway.

Here is a link to a book about cellulose manufacture in the Drammen area 1911-1912.

And perhaps in some other business later in Greaker in Tune in this directory:

I found the profile you created for Gustav (and his family) on Geni. That makes it easier to see what information you already have and what you haven't.

It looks like Gustav's father Kristian died on January 11, 1920. Here is the transcribed death record, and here (line 2) is the original document. The deceased is said to be a g. fhv. gbr., short for gift forhenværende gårdbruker, i.e., a married former farmer, born at Modum and residing at Sundbakken, which seems to have been located in present-day Hokksund here.

Gustav's mother Anne Marie died on November 19, 1940. There is a silly typo in the transcribed record.

I haven't been able to locate existing graves for Gustav's parents, but his brother Nils seems be buried in Fredrikstad: Grave.

I see you also have a Tree on Ancestry.com. Which I would think you should be able to add to it with the info from this site.
