I am trying to find information about Elsa (Else) Thorsen born 1920 and her brother Hans. Their parents died young before Elsa was 7 years old and her grandfather Gunnar Knudsen (Prime Minister) died the following year leaving them orphaned. I would like to know their parents names and any other info anyone has please.

Here is a link to the Family Tree for Gunnar Knudsen and a link to his descendants. I do not see an Else or Hans Thorsen in the list of descendants.

Gunnar did have at least one child out of wedlock Gunvor Astrid but she was not born until 1895. She was then adopted by a family in Oslo.

She married a Erling Cornelius Torp. He was unmarried at the time of the 1920 Census

So far there are no good candidates for your Else and Hans. Do you have any other information or links that you could provide?

Thank you for all this information...sadly I have most of it. The only thing I know about Elsa (Else) is that she married George Hazon Field in Newcastle in 1948. The family were told about her grandfather Gunnar Knudsen. And that the family were from a shipping dynasty. Also that she had a brother Hans. I am about to buy the marraige certificate to see her fathers name.
