HI, I AM SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION ON MY GRANDFATHER, IVER SHELLUM, BORN IN NORWAY IN 1873. HE IMIGRATED TO THE USA PERHAPS IN THE 1890'S. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING ABOUT HIM. THANKS FOR ANY INFO.

Shellum is probably an Americanization of his Norwegian name. You need to collect as much information on him in the US as you can before trying to find him in Norway. In the 1875 census at the Digitalarkivet there are 275 Ivar/Iver's listed born around 1873 and this census is not complete.
Get a copy of his death certificate, marriage certificate, any children's birth certificates, naturalization papers. Find him on the census. The year of immigration is usually listed. If he lived in Minnesota, there is a Iver Shellum's death listed in Pipestone county. http://people.mnhs.org/dci/
You can order the death certificate on line. If you can get his place of birth and father's name you will have much more to go on.
