Seeking information on Ole Olsen, Rudi and Pernille Christiansdatter, Aasorn. They are the parents of my Great Grandmother, Marit Olsdatter, Rudi, born 3 Apr. 1834 in Gunbrandsdalen, Oppland County, Vaga parish. All I know is Pernille died 20 Feb. 1846. Her and Ole's other children are:

Christian Olsen, born 26 Dec. 1826, and I "heard" he immigrated to the USA.

Jacob Olsen

Tonbar [Tonbjor?]

Ragnild

Thanks!

I am almost sure this is Pernille and her family in the 1801 census:

Ragnhild Justsdatter is Pernille's Grandmother (the mother of Christen Guttormsen).

I would also think that this is Ole and his family in the 1801 census:

There is another Rudi farm in Vågå, with one Ole as the family head, but he is more than 50 years old and doesn't seem to have a son named Ole.
Note that Ole Olsen's parents are Ole Olsen and Berthe Pedersdatter.

Good luck!

Thank you for your help - I appreciate it. Am I correct that the families listed in the digitalarkivet end with Pernille and Ole Olesen's brother, Lars Olsen? I'm not very good at reading Norwegian - trying to learn though. Also, the names I had for Marit's brothers and sisters weren't right......
Have a Great Day!!

A cousin sent information on Marit Olsdatter, Rudi that she was born in Gudbrandsdalen, Oppland County, Vaga parish.[1834 - daughter of Ole Olsen, Rudi and Pernille Christensdatter, Aasorn]. I am doubtful about Vaga being the parish. Can someone give me "light" on this? Most appreciated!

I have found a Ole Olsen that Emigrated from Norway to South Dakota to Toronto Canada then on to Wetaskiwin Alberta. He arrived to Alberta in the summer of 1900. I do not have any information on any family members names or dates previous to this information that I have, although it does state that Ole married a woman (name not known, known only as Mrs. Olsen). Whom had child from a previous relation and his name was Miller Mikkelson. Ole and his wife later on had 4 daughters 1 died at an early age, 3 went on to marry.
If any of this information seems at all possible or familiar please let me know. As I live in Alberta, Canada and I have some information close at hand.

I do know that this is a poplar name and that this maybe a long shot.
