Can anyone tell me more about Reinsvold area? Looking for the Finstad Farm. Supposedly this is in Vestre Toten, Oppland. Trying to find information on my ggrandfather Johannes Iverson b. March 3, 1851/1858. Came to America in Dec 1873 or 1878. Settled in Fosston, Minnesota until his death in 1903. Any information would be appreciated. Debi Thanks.

Hi;
Yes; there are two Fistad farms at Reinsvoll; Vestre Toten municipality, Oppland County.

Put a query at http://slektshistorielaget.no/; "Gjøvik og Toten Slekthistorielag" =" ..Historical Society" and I'm sure you'll get some help.
I'll keep an eye on that web site - "see you there"??

You can also search many records at that web site; there are Census for 1865 as well as for 1875. Other records too.

At http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebFront.exe?slag=vis&tekst=meldingar you'll find emigrant records too.
And there's a Census 1880; Norwegians living in the US available.
You can also put querries there.
