Jan,
Thank you again for your help..I was aware of the farms listed in the 1865 census, however I'm not sure if those people listed are any relation as of yet...As far as the Söjen, Söia, Söyen, Söja name...Im finding it as early in 1762 in births records of my family, specifically god parents are using that name. So what I am thinking is that the farm was sold to my family and thats how they aquired the name. Since the 1801 census does not break down all the subdivisions of Buskerud Herregard, do you know where I might find that information? I'm really wanting to know when they actually bought the farm. Thanx again for any help!!

i don't mean to freak anyone out, but my name is Steffen Halvorsen. I'm named after great-great-great-great grandpa Steffen. I'm the great great great grandson of Andrew Halvorsen. My grandfather is Joe Halvorsen and my father is Joe Halvorsren. Scarlet, are you from around Michigan?

Hello Steffen! I know it has taken forever for me to reply, I had taken a break from doing any research! If you are from my Halvorsen family; this is Great! My Halvorsens (Steffen and Johanna) settled in Manistique, Michigan. I am originally from Galien, Michigan. My great grandmother is Emma Halvorsen(daughter of Andrew Halvorsen and Minnie Clare(?). If we are speaking of the same Halvorsens, I would love to share information with you. My email address is ladytaurus67@comcast.net

Best regards,
Scarlet
