Thanks again.
It is curious why Oline is not in the family record here but I agree with your finding. I guess she was old enough to leave the nest.
I found Oline Marie Skiraeseth living with another family in Kristiansund in 1865. They do not appear to be her parents.
Eric.

I assume you refer to this record where Oline is a Tjæneste Pige = servant, the head of the family, his son and a renter are Skibsfører = shipmaster.
It was normal that after being confirmed at the age of 14 -17 years many (if not most) would leave home to earn money.

Through talking to my family here in the US, and through searching through 2008 Norwegan tax records that are onlin, I found a Kjell Røbech living in Hamer that I believe is Florence Larsen's son. I also think that he may have a son named Erik Røbech and awife named Bjørg Røbech . I will write him a letter and introduce myself, and see if he is my relative. I have an old photograph of Kjell with his brother Oscar that was taken in Norway back when Kjell was almost three years old. Perhaps I will include this in the letter.
I beleive that Kjell was born in 1933 and that Oscar was about two and a hlaf years older than Kjell. I suspect that they were born in Christiansund but I'm not sure. If you stumble accross any birth records for them I would love to know what you find. We don't see any Oscar Røbech in the tax records so perhaps he is no longer with us or he moved out of Norway.
Eric.

This could be a long shot but would like help looking up a possible birth record from Kristiansund. Peter Larsen, born Feb. 12, 1894.
The family lived in Chesea, Massachusetts from 1891-1908 when both parents passed away. They had four children and I have three birth certificates, all from Chesea, Massachusetts for all of Peter's siblings. Peter's birth certificate is missing and not in the local records here in Boston. He also said he never had a copy of his birth certificate. I do have a record of the mother, Mariane (Neeraas) Larsen travelling back from Kristiansund to Boston in October 1895 with her older daughter Olga and son Peter. This seems to be just a visit back to Norway. Perhaps Peter was born durring this trip in Norway and not Chelsea??
Another possibility was that the father Edward Larsen was from Smola / Edo so it is possible that that area would also yield some information. (Less likely)

Which of the birth/baptismal records for Kristiansund that are online at the Digitalarkivet website have you already checked yourself?

Oskar lives in Sweeden. His has lived and worked in Sweeden, constructing trainwagons. He is married to Laila and they have to children. Carina and Robert Røbeck. Kjell and Bjørg lived for many years in the U.S.A. he was engeneer, they moved and settled in Hamar. Two sons. One of them Erik. I cant remember the youngest sons name. You have probably written to them.
I stumbeled over this forum occanionally.
I am the daughter of Peder Thoresen Neeraas. 3rd child of Ole Theodor Neeraas. Married to Kristine Nielsen from Steinkjer. So my father was your grandfathers cousin.
They where 6 children. Molla(Karen Otilie, married to Kåre Karlsen, 3 children, 2 alive), Åse(married to Leif Brask, 5 children all alive), Peder Th.(my father. Married to Anne Brandstad, 4 children, all alive), Hans (married to Dagmar Bakken, 3 children, all alive), Tor (married to Gudrun Hovland, 6 children, all alive) and Oddlaug, the only child aliv todaye . She is 84 years the 7th of january this year, and was born after her fathers death. Oddlaug was married to Arne Rasmussen. They had 2 children. She was married second time to Rieber (cant remember his first name). They had no children together. Oddlaug is living in northern Norway. Also my mother is alive. She is 87, and has done much familyresearch.
The old aunts in U.S.A. is known to me as my fathers aunt; Marianne, Petra, Line, Lise (moved back to Norway), and Agnes. Not much known of uncle Hjalmar. Aunt Agnes was member of the mormon church in Utah, and they had a great archive of family. They are called Patton. (Bob?) I do not know them, but my cusine Solvei Jacobsen i Kristiansund, used to have contact. I hope this can help you.
Florence was a dear guest in my homein my childhood, when I was living in Kristiansund. She was over 90 years when she died. So was aunt Lise,(Olise Theodora) who became Florence`s caretaker after she lost her parents. I have never heard about Olga? Just Florence`s brothers.

I might be wrong according to aunt Agnes, mixing her with one of my grandmothers family. I can remeber Agnes visiting Norway and aunt Lise when I was a small girl. I have also seen the picture when Marianne was visiting Norway and her parents.
I talked with my mother today, she has not the best memory for these matters anylonger, and is living far from me. She had heard of Olga, but Olga did never live with aunt Lise and Florence. Mother asked me to send her regards to you and your father.
The young lady visiting you many years ago, must be my cousin Eva Brask. She is now retired singer and songpedagog. She is the oldest daugheter of aunt Åse.

Hello Eli.
Thank you very much for your response. Very glad to hear from you! Lots of good new information also. I remember Eva or perhaps Eva had a daughter - visiting our house when I was a small child. My father remembers also. I did not have that much information on your side of the family after Ole Neeraas so thank you very much for providing it. I have been in contact with the Robechs in Hamar and in Sweden somewhat regularly since I found them. Oscar’s son Robert and I are third cousins and were born on the exact same day!
I have a picture that Kjell or Oscar sent me of Ole, his parents Olise with Florence as a child. The photo was taken in their home in Kristiansund I would guess. Also, on the table in front of them were many family pictures and what looks like a family bible as well. I wonder what ever happened to these things? I have a few pictures of people but since our side of the family became orphans, they did not get too much of those things. I have a picture of Marrianne Neeraas but none of her husband Edward Larsen. (We know almost nothing of his family) I have a picture of Olise, and one of Lina with her husband and my grandfather Peter. I did not know Agnes came to the US. My father remembers his aunts Lina and Petra. I never got to meet them. He never heard about Hjalmar but he did live here with his daughter Hazel in the 1920-1930 time period. He worked with boilers for heating systems and lived with Lina and her family. It appears that his wife had passed away when the child Hazel was born? I did see one record for him that may indicate that he later went to work on ships. Perhaps just before WW-II. He remembers a little bit about aunt Agnes as well. She lived in California and married a man named Edgar Little.
As for Olga Larsen, she married into a family with the last name of McCutcheon. He was a railroad engineer. (Train driver) I am now in contact with some of their grand-children as well but they now live on the other side of the country in California. I do not have any pictures of Olga.
I also found some information on Oscar L. Larsen, Florence’s other brother. He died in the 1920’s as a result of illness contracted while on a ship during WW-I. I have a picture of him as well.
I am very happy to hear from you and when I have more time this evening I will dive into the information you have given me.
Hope to hear from you again soon and give our regards to all. Your mother, my brother and my wife all share the same birthday. Happy birthday to your mother.
