Am trying to find info about departure city, year, passenger list & ship, etc. Known information is:living in Lisbon,Il in 1854,but moved to Story County,Iowa arriving June 7,1855.My G-grandparents:Salemon & Sarah Heggen & grandfather Ole Heggen were among the 111 who made this move. They had lived in Olen,Norway,so guessing they left from Haugesend(closest) or Bergen or Stavanger.Think they were from Etne,Skaanevik,or Fjelberg Parish in Norway. Information source is "brief history of First Norwegian Settlement of Story & Polk Counties in Iowa compiled by Oley Nelson in 1905, & translated into english in 1930 & added to by Anfin Apland in 1945. I can supply names of all 111 people if that would help.Any & all help would be greatly appreciated. Charles Heggen

To find out when they came to the US you should locate Ole in the 1900 or 1910 census. The census gives the year of immigration and hopefuly the information is accurate. Finding a passenger list etc. is more difficult. Read Hunting Passenger lists
The Norwegians in Central Iowa Registry has some information on them.
