I overlooked that this family has been discussed on page one and two some years ago.

Torsten was born July 3. 1887 and bap. August 7. (not found) but his confirmation record from Oct. 5. 1902 confirm that, born on Sander and lived on Sander 1902, see on top #43, but he em. 1907 to Dakota.

His mother d. within 1900 was Berit Olsdatter.
If he also em. 1935 to Canada with his family he must have returned.
A dau. Berit Torbjĝrg Stokes was born on Sander 1932, d. 2008, link
The church records for baptism stops 1929 because of a persons privazy.

Wow, I am overwhelmed by the great responses! Yes, I am pretty sure that Cathe (who started this post) and I have similar relatives, just trying to figure this all out and contact her as well.
So, I am getting a lot of information about Torsten Sander (Torstejn Olsen Sander) b. July 3 1887, whose brother is Ole (1891) and sister was Margit (1893). Am I correct in understanding that his father was Ole Torstensen and his mother was Berit Olsdatter???
I am still confussed about his son, Thorsten (maybe Tosten), who I though emigratted with the rest of the family in 1935, but maybe I am wrong. I do not have any birth date for him, just a death date of 2004 (someone added his obituary on page 3 along with his brother's, Ole: thanks.) I would like to find out his birth date and also mother. I found other evidence that is mother was Magnhild Kvernstuen (various spellings).
Again,so much thanks for all this info!

Here is the immigration record for 1907 for Torsten Sander. The ships manifest from 1935 also indicated that he had come to America in 1910 as well.

Here is a birth record for Margit Karoline Olsdatter sister of Torsten? The father is Ole Torstensen but the mother is neither Berit Olsdatter or Mari Olsdatter the two names that have been identified as Torstens mother. Her name is very hard for me to read but looks like, Mathilda Gundersdatter? And it is the same mother as Ole posted earlier. See #14.
