I am looking for immigration information on my g-grandmother, Ingeborg Karoline Christensdatter who lived at a cotters place, Kasa u/Haukeli, prior to immigrating to the U.S. in 1880. She left with her sister, Ann K. Christensdatter and an uncle, Anders Halvorsen. I have been told she was 18 when she came to the United States. I have no other information except that she was in Michigan in 1882 when she was married. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ingeborg Karoline married Johan (John) Christensen Herre who I am told immigrated to the U.S. a few years before she did. I have been told he came to the U.S. on a cattle ship (?) and was from Bamle. That is not alot of information to go on but again, any assistance or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!
Tina

I think the Christensdtr girls came from Solum in Telemark. It would appear to be the family here -

Johan Christiansen and family on the Herre lille (Little Herre) farm in Bamle (Bamble), Telemark in 1865.

If any of them left from the port of Skien in Telemark - I hope someone might know how and where to check for that...
