Dear All;
My name is Margaret Hansen and I live in the state of Victoria in Australia. I am most interested in my grandfather's arrival in Australia in circa 1871. His name was Thomas Lars Hansen and he was by the limited information that I have from Bergen. I would be most grateful if anyone could lead me to an index of immigrants to Australia from Norway of circa around 1871.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Margaret Hansen

The LDS Family History Library catalog indicates several different indexes of immigrants arriving Victoria, Australia for that time period.
The catalog lists the places in Australia where each of the original documents are housed.
Go to http://www.familysearch.org
click on the link in the right hand column which says "Search the Family History Library Catalog for records and resources."
Choose - Place Search
and enter Victoria part of Australia
from the list of topics which will appear choose 'Emigration and immigration - Indexes'
