I am writing up the history of my husband's maternal side of the family. Right now I am consecrated on the Malmanger family. In 2005 I asked for information and I am so grateful for what was given to me. But, now I need to get into the 1865 census and since Digitalarkivet changed its format I cannot research family groupings. I just cannot get any results from the new format. Is there a way to find family groups? I am interested in the family of Tore Larsson Stuland and his wife Britta Kittlesdatter Hjelmeland of Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway.. I would like to follow up on the family members who remained in Norway. I have found those that immigrated to America. Thank you for any information you can give me! |

The site of UiT might suite you better. It tends to focus on specific farms.
Here is the main site. You need to click on the box labelled "Easy Searches in the Censuses".

But I also went to the Digitalarkviet site and it does not look much different.
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038231003508
Father, mother and four children.
There are advantages and disadvantage for both sites but one might suit you better. |

Thank you for the information! It was very helpful! But now I would like to find out info on Bernt Andreas Thorsen who I think remained in Norway and also his sister, Anna Cicilla Thoresdatter. Did they marry, have children and what kind of work did Bernt do?Again, I appreciate any help you can find for me. I will try to figure the new format out that Norway uses to record their census! |

I would appreciate a little more help! I am looking for the death record of Samson T. Malmanger who in the 1920 census was listed as 54 years of age, a Deep Sea Fisherman and living in Sausalito, California. He was born in 1865 in Hordaland, Norway. I think he remained a single man. Thank you! |

Again, I'm seeking more information on the Malmanger family - Lars T Stuland, born in 1801 on Stuland, Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway. We have no death record for either Lars or his wife,Britte Jonsdotter born 1800 in Myklebust indre, Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway. The last information that I can locate is that they died after 1871 and at that time they were living in Eio austre, Ølen, Hordaland, Norway. I would be thrilled to learn of this information. Also, am I right to assume that most ancestors living in the 1800's in this part of Norway would be considered farmers? |

Carol - What was the source of the following information? "The last information that I can locate is that they died after 1871 and at that time they were living in Eio austre, Ølen, Hordaland, Norway." |
