I found the following in 1875 Norway census and have not been able to find a translation that seems to fit:
Inderst, Oppsynsmand ved Fjeldstuen i Umbugt og Jaeger.

Would someone please translate this for me.

Thank you
Tonia Nielsen

Inderst, Oppsynsmand ved Fjeldstuen i Umbugt og Jaeger

English: Renter, Supervisor at Umbukta Mountain Inn ("Umbukta Fjellstue") and hunter.

The Mountain Inn was initally a farm, and opened as an Inn in 1873. Located in Rana municipality, Nordland county.

Thank you very much for your reply. This title belonged to Anton Jacob Frederikssen whose wife was Jane Petrine Meyer. Jane was the sister of my husband's great grandmother -- Kristence Marie Meyer.

Thank you for your time and thank you for the pictures. Information like this makes the family come alive and teaches me more about Norway.
