My great grandmother was named Sanna Theodora Sofia knutsdatter of Hundsnes in Rogaland. 24 Mar 1873 birthdate
She immigrated in 1892 I have found no ship list listing her.In America she choose Olson as her last name,
and she immigrated in 1892.The state she came to was Iowa.I have a picture of her with her sister, but I have no name of the sister, she had many. She had many siblings and I have tried in vain to locate what happened to them if anyone could provide insight into this I would appreciate it.
Takk,
Amy Peterson

Was Olsen her married name? It seems quite odd that she did not go by a variation of Knutsdatter. How do you know she immigrated in 1892? From a census?

What were her parents names? When did she die? More information on this side of the pond would help.

The 1865 Norwegian census captures her parents living in Haugesund, Rogaland. Note the spelling and date variations -

The Hundsnæs farm in Tysvær, Rogaland -- the residents are obviously relatives to the above.

I should have added that her father was a Sailor. He was also in south America at some time.So they moved some. But she had siblings their names are
Severine Emilie 1865-
Sigvart 1867-
Olaus Andreas 1869-
Karl Severin 1879-
Hanna Severine 1891-1892
Sjur Retsius 1888
Her father, and youngest sister died in1892 and she immigrated in 1892.I thought that was odd.I am curious about the siblings.I can't seem to find anything at all on them.
