Hello
I am looking for information regarding Johannes Jörgensen born May 1802. His wife was Berte Christtensdatter June 1799. I know of one son Christian Johnson born Feb 27 1828. I believe Christian was born in Stolpestad-eiet Eastern Kolstad - Ringsaker Parish Norway. This may be another daughter of Johannes, Ingeborg Johannesdatter born 1839.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Christie

Thank you Jan I didn't have any of Christian's brothers and sisters your information is very helpful. Can anyone by any chance find information on Jörgen Larsen b. 1777 and Maline Tollövsdatter b. 1768. I am looking for either more of their children besides Johannes Jörgensen or their parents names.
Thank you
Christie

The Ringsaker church records are available for microfilm rental at a local Family History Center:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlefilmnotes&columns=*%2C0%2C0&titleno=7846&disp=Kirkeb%C3%B8ker++

The church records have more information that what is most online, names of godparents and other information, it varies. There are links here to sites that help with understanding and reading old records as well as dictionaires geared to old language spellings. They are not hard to read, a few basic words and usually the handwriting is very good.

Recommend you join this organization for $10.00 per year, they help members with their family history:

In the 1801 census, Sidsel Johannesdtr. was most likely Jørgen's or Mallene’s widowed mother.

Thank you for the information Jo Anne. I had a question though. You say the microfilm is available for rental, now is this at any Family History Center. And are these centers different than their churches,

Sometimes a local church of the LDS will have a Family History Center (FHC) but such a center can occasionally be a separate facility - check your local phone directory or the online listing they make available at www.familysearch.org

I recommend that you call them before you visit and check for the local schedule - these centers are staffed only by volunteers and can be limited in hours.
