I have an older half-sister who was born in Norway, I believe about 1926-1930. We have the same mother, Lillie (Lily) Anna Ellefsen (maiden name). My sister's name is Elizabeth and she was probably born somewhere around Oslo, but I am not sure. Lillie Anna's parents' names were Conrad/Konrad and Otilie (Rosenvinge) Ellefsen. Could someone please tell me how I might go about finding records of my sister's birth or baptism? Also, my sister's husband's name is Allen Lierfall and they live in the Barum area? Would their marriage information be onlinle? Thank you, Louise |

If that link to those explanations on the Digitalarkivet doesn't work I'll include a brief excerpt (copy/paste) - .... The process of digitising and indexing will be done according to the serial number of the microfilms. This ensures an even distribution geographically of the material. The youngest parish registers will be published first, the oldest later, with some exceptions.
The oldest parish register dates back to 1623 (Andebu, Vestfold county). The youngest parish registers, delivered and microfilmed, end in the 1940s. These are copies of the official parish registers.
For the protection of privacy, there are limits for how recent records can be:
- Birth and baptism records 1930 - Confirmation records 1935 - Marriage and banns records 2005 - Death, burial and stillbirth records 1926 - Death and burial records without cause of death 2005 - Migration records 2005 - Joins and leavings of the State Church 1945 - Records about dissenters 1945
If you cross these limits while browsing a register or a list, you will not see the digitised image, but a message informing you that the image cannot be displayed. .... |
