Renee,
you have been getting a lot of info today, but Tromsø/Tromø (Tromøy) in the 1865 cencus confuse me.

We also find Ole Knudsen age 32 when he leave Bygland in Aust Agder 1835, the only who left Bygland in 1835.

The same Ole as mentioned abowe, in this next record from Bygland as Ole Knudsen Sannæs, abowe in the record from Fyresdal as Ole Knudsen Berge.
In column 3 "Hvorhen bortreist" Where did the person moove, it´s writen Moland Prestegjeld(Fyresdal main parish)
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9424&idx_id=9424&uid=ny&idx_side=-202

Bygland 1821, Confirmation down page # 5, Ole (Knudsen) Berge af Fyrresdal (from Fyresdal), father Knud Berge, Ole was born April 5. 1804
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9424&idx_id=9424&uid=ny&idx_side=-159

is this ole´s granfather?
Widower Knud Knudsen Berge age 61, living with his daughter Anne and brother Tallev on Berge in 1801

It´s not fare from Bygland in Aust Agder to Fyresdal in Telemark

Thank you for all of this. Ole's parents are such a mistery. I think his father might be Knud Knudsen because in the marriage of Halvor Thorsen and Torbjor,s marriage there is Halvor's father and grandfather and Ole and a knud Knudsen which would be Torbjor's father and grandfather. It is just a guess.
Halvor and Torbjor's son Tore is my grandfather. They all went to Usa in 1870. Ole was with them as a widower.
Thank you again,
Renee

Thank you Kare,
It is so hard to find info on Ole's parents. I think his father might be Knud Knudsen because there is Knud Knudsen with Ole in Torbjor's marriage record but it is just a guess.
have a good night,
Renee

Summing up for Ole Knudsen:

Ole Knudsen has stated that he was born in Tromø Sogn (Parish) – from 1742 Austre Moland, Tromøe and Barbu was one common Parish and the records can be found in the scanned records under Austre Moland, Aust-Agder. (Unfortunately birth records 1803 – 1807 are missing)

In 1821 an Ole Berge af Førresdahl is confirmed in Bygland – his father is Knud Berge

In 1822 an Ole Knudsen Nordenaa is confirmed by a soldier minister in Bygland. (Nordenaa is a farm in Sandnes Sogn in Bygland)

In 1835 Ole Knudsen, Sannæs moved from Bygland in Aust-Agder to Moland Parish in Telemark. I am not able to read the reason given. (Sandnes is a farm in Tromøe Sogn as well as in Bygland)

In 1835 Ole Knudsen Berge moves into Moland coming from Bygland (Berge is a farm in Moland Sogn)

In 1836 Ole Knudsen Berge marries the widow Bergit Jørgensdt. Berge (She married Knut Kittilsen in 1823 – he died in 1833 at the farm Berge in Birthedalen)

Since birth records are missing there is little chance to find Oles parents from Tromøe Parish – his father and/or himself probably moved from Tromøe to Bygland to serve in the military – it is reasonable to believe that the Ole Knudsen moving from Bygland to Moland where he got married is one and the same Ole.
