Due to confusion in the printing of family genealogy, I need to know information concerning Lars Arnts. Moe. He fathered a son, Thomas, b. 3 Nov 1860 with my g-g-grandmother Mali Torgersdtr. Mali later married Tosten Olsen Ingstadkleiv on March 31, 1865. Tosten and his oldest daughter, Gurina, emigrated to USA in 1882. Did Lars Arnts. Moe emigrate to the USA? If so, is it possible to know where he settled. I found Lars in the 1865 census living at Hegra, domicile Sonbjørgplads, as being married to Ragnild Pedersdatter and together had 3 children: Gurina, Peter and Peter Andreas. Mali's parents were Torgeir Olsen Østerås and Karen Torsteinsdtr. Håvenset (Stjørdal) living on Ytre Stagabergsvollen. I would appreciate a clear understanding of Lars Arnts. Moe's family. I think it is interesting that apparently Lars and wife Ragnild named their first daughter Gurina and so did Tosten and Mali name their first daughter Gurina. It has made for lots of confusion. Thanks for your help.

You already have the family history? but printing is a problem? I don't understand that.

The research has already been done??

Did you get all information possible from the published book(s) "Stjørdalsboka: Gards- og slektshistorie", 6? volumes by Jon Lierfall?

It seems like you already know, but here you have the evidence, Lars Arntsen from Sørkiilmoe was the father of Gurine, see #95 and Thomas, see #102 - they were both "uægte" children (parents not married) recorded on the same page in the church book!
Lars chose to marry Gurines mother, see #4 who already had an "uægte" child, see #70 with Peder Pedersen.
The record of Mali and Tostens marriage is #6
Malis son Thomas was a fosterchild in 1865, see 2909
Lars and Ragnhild had one more son in 1868, see #41 and in 1871 they had a daughter see #45

A very belated "thank you" to eibache and Hopkins for your great information on Lars Arntson Moe from 2007. I am now trying to connect the correct information on Lars and his family. As Hopkins gave me such valuable info as to Lars marrying Ragnhild Petersdtr. on March 22, 1861. She had a daughter before their marriage and at least 3, if not, 4 more children. The 1865 census shows Gurina, Peter and Peter Andreas. Then your info showed another son born June 15, 1868 and a daughter born July 11, 1871. We know definitely that Lars Moe emigrated to America and settled in the same community as Mali Torgersdtr. and her husband, Tosten Olson. Remember, Mali and Lars Moe had a son, Thomas together. So did Lars emigrate alone or did his family come with him? I'd appreciate any help I can get as I am meeting the first of the week with a decendent of Thomas Larson and they do not have a clear picture of his ancestry. Thank you!

At first glance Find-a-Grave seems to have confused the family

Lars Arntsen Moe 1839-1915
link

According to the FAG memorial, Lars and Mali had a daughter Anne b 22 Jan 1876. Seems unlikely to be correct, since they had both married other people by then. link

1900 census says Anne immigrated 1881:
link

In an earlier Norway Heritage thread (a thread of cdahl's), Jan Peter pointed out that Ancestry.com had a tree with wrong info for this Anne and gave this as correct birth: link

On the church book page posted, showing Lars leaving for North America, my reading of it is that he is accompanied by
* a son Peter b 29 Dec 1875
* a daughter's daughter Randi b 29 Dec 1879 [sic]

Same page, in 1885, Kirstine Larsdatter --?-- is emigrating, b 11 July 1871 (which matches daughter of Lars Arntsen Moe)
