Do you think that Les and Carla is on the track with John , Elen, Christina, John(2), Henry, Elly, Arnold. Even if their dates dont match 100%.??????

No, I don't think so. This was a different Elen with a girl named Christine..., the Momb track looks to be wrong,..

I believe eibache found your Kristine born in Nord-Odal on 16-Jan-1882, christened 05-Feb-1882.
Parents: Married couple Gustav Johannessen b. 1858 and wife Elen Marie Kristoffersdatter b. 1853.
Farm: Kjensli under Rud.

Gustav Johannessen Kjernslie went to America on 21.03.1883.

He is listed as married. So was Elen when she emigrated about a year later.

But..., looking at Gustav and Elens marriage record... Elen's father is listed as Kristoffer Pedersen, and she is listed as born on Breiby, Nord-Odal... This is confusing!

Gustav Johannesen were confirmed 1874, see #42 his parents were Johannes Gustavsen and Petronille Pedersdatter. His birth record is #94.
Gustavs parents married in 1856, see #37
Johannes was born in Sweden and his father was Jan Skårerson.
Petronella was born Febr 13 1836 see #10 she was an "uægte" child her mother was Johanne Hansdatter and the father was Peder Pedersen, Tronserud.

I believe the Gustav Johannessen Kjenslie track is wrong as well... Gustav did marry a girl named Elen Marie Kristoffersdatter, but that Elen is born in Nord-Odal on 18 DEC 1853 by parents Christopher Pedersen & Kari Larsdr.

The Elen Marie we are looking for is born 16-Feb-1854, christened in Sør-Odal on 12-Mar-1854, with parents Edvard Olsen Berg & Eli Christophersdr Melby...

It is not certain that this Elen is the right one.
I believe #40 here might also be a choice. Her father being Edvard Olsen we find her in the 1865 census here

So we are back to the last line here then.

I am afraid it is neccesary to go back to square one - Ottar asked about the sister of his grandfather (who could be Kristofer Kristofers. no 621 in the 1865 census and 32 years old . Kristoffer had a sister Eli Kristofersd. - no 622 in the census and 44 years old. Ottar says the sister should be Ellen Marie Kristoffersen and she had a daughter Kristina. Of course the Elen Marie born Febr 16 1854 could be the one Ottar is looking for but she is not the sister of Ottars grandfather - and it has proved to be difficult to find her daughter in the parish records.
I think Ottar has to do some rethinking of the relationship between his grandfather and Elen Marie.

I agree.

Ottar can not be looking for the sister of his grandfather, but the sister's daughter and grand-daughter.

His grandfather must be Christopher Kristoffersen Melby, born 25 OCT 1835.
Christopher's older sister was Eli Kristoffersdr Melby, born 10 OCT 1822 .

Their parents was Christopher Christophersen & Marte Monsdr.

This Eli Kristoffersdr Melby had a girl named Elen Marie, born 16-Feb-1854, christened in Sør-Odal on 12-Mar. Her father was Edvard Olsen Berg.

YOU ARE RIGHT....
I had mistaken the form of relationship.. I see now that Elen was the dauther of my grandfather`s sister (Eli). This was maybe logic to me because the year of birth, ---- that Elen was Kristoffers sister. You have all been very helpful to me.

BUT......Question reamains... I think that Elen Marie and Kristina who immigrated in 1884 to (Trance, Frrazze, Frazee) is the Elen and Kristina I am locking for.
They left Oslo (Kristiania) with the ship Marsdin. This ship went for Hull. Then they must have taken another ship for U.S.
This is exiting...and interesting.
