Some guidelines for obtaining Naturalization records from Kings County, New York. You may want to work with the LDS to help locate the proper county to look for his records.

Kings county has at least 5 Christian Olsen's that could be the right one.

This is a search for Christ Olsen.

Records Located at:
County Clerk's Office
State Supreme Court, Kings County (Brooklyn)
360 Adams Street, Room 0079 (cross streets: Johnson, Court & Joralemon Sts)
Brooklyn, NY 11201
Please Note!
Due to the increase demand for Naturalization records in the Kings County Clerk's Office, the wait is aprx. 4-6 months for mail requests. The cost of a Naturalization record ordered by mail is $10. See FAQs for further information on how to obtain copies.

The LDS Family History Center has now microfilmed almost all of the naturlizations. After you find your record in the index, click here to find the microfilm in which the record is located. Use this number when visiting your local FHC to order the record. You may order the microfilm from your local Family History Center.

Here is a possible Emigrant from Sandefjord, named Kristian Olsen. Number 48. Dated 31 January 1906. 29 days after his mother remarried.

I think we are getting closer to when Krisotffer left.

Sorry, the above link doesn't work. Under emranters from Kristiania there is a Kristian Ols. Fodstadeie, departing 30 March 1906, age 20, on the Montebello, which went to Hull, England. His destination is given as Boston.

Sorry, the above Kristian Ols. is not the right person. I found one that seems to match the dates for emigrating, that left Liverpool on the SS Ivernia, arriving in Boston 12 April 1906. This Kristian was going to Minnesota to see his brother Ole Olsen.

In the World War I Draft Registration Cards, I found a Chris Christerson b 10 Dec 1887 Norway, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It shows his birthplace as Transberg, Norway and that he is a Seaman with the Navy, with the SS WM Rockfellow......When I looked at his signature, it really looks like Krist Kristofferson....Maybe?

I think this record is for the same person I found in the WW1 Draft Reg record.
