I am trying to find parents and siblings and any other info for Karl Wilhelm Hansen born 27.12.1885 in Trondheim, Norway. He emigrated to thru Ellis Island in 22.04.1904 and went to Pennsylvania.
He was married and had two children but I do not know who. He was in Philidelphia in 1917 and died in Clatsop, Oregon 05.06 1964.
Thank you for any help.

Renee,

It has been awhile since I helped look for a Karl Wilhelm Hanson in Clatsop, Oregon. I obtained a death certificate for him, but he was not the right relative of Odd H. Are you also trying to help Odd H.?

Les

Sorry about the brain to keyboard error.

Yes I am. But Karl's last name was Hansen. Maybe that will help.
Thank you for your help.

I found Carl's SS # 210-09-3722
It was issued in Pennsylvania.
Might help.

He sailed from Oslo/Kristiania on or about 22 April 1904 -
Record 157077

He mentioned Frosta (Nord-Trøndelag) as previous residence - but no mention of Trondheim.

You've posted the same query to another message board. It's always nice to know if we might be duplicating work that others are attempting.

I don't know if this is a connection or not, but I have a Hanson connected to my family (grandpa's godmother, and possibly an aunt or cousin by marriage) Her name was Hjordis Hanson(b 4-1-1901) from Hero (Heroy), Helgeland, Norway. Her and her husband, Jentoft Dahl (B poss late 1880's to early 1890's) were married in Hero, Norway on 2-9-1929 and immigrated to the USA (arrived 3-18-1929) from Stavangerfjord-NY-and then on to Seattle Wa Her parents were Andreas and Pernille Hanson and she had a sister "Ruth". Also a nephew "Harald" living in Sandessjoen, Norway in 1996...Let me know if this helps! ~Melinda

Hi,

Apparently some past history on this topic. Is this the Carl Wilhelm you seek? Birthdate is 11 Dec 1885, slight difference.

Source information: Sør-Trøndelag county, Domkirken in Trondheim, Parish register (official) nr. 601A25 (1877-1891), Birth and baptism records 1886, page 140.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=3019&idx_id=3019&uid=ny&idx_side=-148
Permanent imagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20060125020148.jpg

And also there is this family in the 1900 census from Trondheim:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=4&filnamn=f01601&gardpostnr=7189&personpostnr=33744&merk=33744#ovre

Since Frosta has been mentioned as another possible venue it would probably do to check in Frosta records for the baptism of any Karl Wilhelm there with a birthdate close to what you have.

Has anyone checked on the ground for an obit for Karl, or for an estate record for Karl?

Jackie M.

Margit Bakke,
I looked into your information on Maren Bredine Mortensdatter born in Dybedal in Sandsvær.
Do you have all the records from Sandsvær going back to farm Skullestad and 1619?
If not and you are interested you can open a new topic in Norway Heritage and I can bring them to you.

Kåre
