Syver Olsen, born 18.12.1858 in N. Land, travel form Oslo 26. april 1878 with the boat "Hero" to Hull. According to this site, he travel from Liverpool with S/S Baltic to NY 30.april 1878 or with S/S Moravian to Quebec 2. mai 1878.
Is it possible to find Syver at anyone passenger lists?
Grateful for help!

Thank you Les!
I have also found this family in census 1910. Kristian is born in Norway, and I will check more around the parents.

Les,
I found both Karen and Syver born in Søndre Land, Oppland County. This is the neighbor area where "my" Syver is born. This Syver is born Nov 17th 1856. Karen in 1869 in the neighbor farm.
So we are still far away from finding "my" Syver.
But thanks Les, for checking this family out.

Do you have records of Syver in the United States?

I have searched many of the on-line ships manifests for the month of May, for New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Quebec.

Maybe he was on the Sardinian which had a boiler explosion and was injured or killed.

Les,
I have not records of Syver in US, so may be the solution is in S/S Sardinien. If it was an explosion there, can we find somewhere who was killed etc.
I will search more tomorrow, when I have better time.

Here is some information regarding the S/S Sardinian, and the explosion that occured. The story indicated passengers were put on the Peruvian, which sailed to Qeubec, but there was no Syver Olsen on the manifest.

Les,
From a "Norway Lister", Sheryl, I got this result from my inquiery there. I am sure this is the right Syver, even he is standing as Swedish in this dokument
Moravian
Syver on page 2, line 14, ship Moravian, left Liverpool May 2, 1878, arrived Quebec May 13, 1878, his destination Janesville.

The destination is right, the arrivel time is abt right. My challenge now, is to find him in Janesville area.

Sheryl find also Anders` arrivel in Quebec in 1877. See the inquiry below.
