I'm looking for relatives after Peder O. Gulseth. Alberta, Canada.
He was born in Selbu Norway in1888 and died in Canada in1972.
Last known resident was: 8335-81 ave, NW, Edmonton AB Canada.
He was on one trip to Norway in 1959. (50 years after he left).
Uncertain informations:
Wife: LAURA
Sons: Vernon and Clifford.
I have been searching the net, without any lock.

I think this could be his birth record, born 11 Dec 1888, at Selbu, Sør Trøndelag, on the Gulset farm. His parents are Ole Pdersen, and Mali Olsdtr.(I think her first name is Mali)
#4

He could have adopted the farm name Gulseth when he emigrated.

If we have the right person so far, this could be Peder O. Gulseth's father Ole Pedersen, in the 1865 census, with his parents and siblings.#27

Are these the type of relatives you are looking for?

Here is the marriage record for Ole Pedersen Gulseth and Mali Olsdtr Slinden on 22 Nov. 1886.#30

And this is Mali Olsdtr's family from the 1865 census. Her father is Ole Johnsen and mother is Sigri Johnsdtr. #14
Plus you have Ole Johnsen"s parents.

If you are looking for relatives in Canada, you could see if his obituary lists any. This page Click Here has him listed and you could try emailing the contact at the top of the page. It says free consultation so I don't know if this means they have access to the obituary but it can't hurt to try.

Lester. Tank you for your research work. My looking for relatives goes the other way.
But you gave me the name of the boat and the date for leaving Norway, This was new for me!
For your information: There are seven history books about the farms in Selbu going back to 1700 th Century.
Do you know of any rescores in Canada where I can search for personal data from 1910 and up to today?

Carla. Thank you for the information. I did find his death date, but nothing more

Unfortunatly, the Alberta Vital Stastics are not available online. You have to contact them and request a vital search. Thats too bad, B.C's are open to the public, but no match there.
It may be hard to find your living realitives because their info wont be openly online in fear of identity theft. But I'm not a professinal at this!
Good Luck with your search and I wish you the best.
