I believe I have traced the marriage of Ole Paulsen & Anne Sirine Amundsdatter 9 September 1798, Sandsvaer, children born Amund ? 23 December 1798, twins, Marthe Carine & Karen 11 January, 1801. Would some kind person confirm these as very hard to read on pages, also is Anne Sirine father mentioned. Also found another birth of "Povel" to Ole Paulsen born 23 September 1798, is this the same parent?
Any help appreciated.
Alan.

The marriage record reads: Ole Povelsen Liøterud, bachelor and maiden Anne Syrene Anundsdatter engaged Sept 9 and married Oct. 6.
Witnessed Peder M Muggerud, Torsten Olsen Liøterud.
You find Oles parents and siblings from the census 1801.
Ole and Anne Sirines first child was Anund, baptized 1st day of Xmas, Dec 25 1798.
Marte Carine was born first and Karine last, they were baptized Jan 11.

Einar,

Thanks for the help. We have sent some of our research to Jillian's cousin in Norway hoping they may help with letters and some photographs from Ingeborg, Otilie Olafsen's daughter.

Thanks again.

Ole and Anne Sirene got 4 more children who all died young between 1801-1810, Anne Siren likley died in a child birth when Paul was born 1810 (he died same year)
Ole married again 1812 to Ingeborg Kristine Gundersdatter Muggerud 1791-1862, 5 children.
Ole Paulsen (Rønningen) died 1835 and the widow married again in 1838 to Torsten Jonsen Ljøterud.
Correct name of the farm is Rønningen.

Perhaps you already have this information?

Yes Ane Syrine 35 years old was burried July 14 1810 (same date as Poul was baptized), see last record in far right column.
Poul was burried Aug 12 that year.
Oles second wife was Ingeborg Kirstine Gundersdatter, they married June 20 1812 (and had a "kongebrev" dated May 30) see 7th couple on right page.
Ole Poulsen Liøterud died Febr 10 1835, 65 years old, see #12

"Kongebrev" was given by the outhorities (The king) after an apply for exemption to give permission to marry if the conditions was not formal.
It could be many reasons for that, close relationship, to marry at home instead of in church, the bride or the groom could be to young, without any Banns of marrriage.

This wasn´t free, the bridal couple hade to pay a fee to the outhorities, in 1850 when King Fredrik VII was king of Norway (1808-14) the fee was 15 Riksdaler 5 Mark, see this "Kongebrev" here

The fee was first given to the poor people, when that good intention ended the fee was given to the government.

Torsten Johnsen Nedre Ljøterud (Lower Ljøterud) sold about 1764 a part from his farm named Rønningen including all land on "the Rønning side of the river" to Ole Olsen Ljøterud for 550 Riksdaler. The main building on Rønningen burned down 1789.

Off the record:
Torsten Johnsen Ljøtreud 1729-65 who sold Rønningen in 1764 to Ole Olsen.
His g. granddaughter Anna Karine Torstensdatter Ljøterud 1826-1874 was my granmother Anna Karine Olsdatter´s 1885-1976 grandmother.
It was Anna Karine Torstensdatter´s father Torsten Johnsen Ljøterud 1790-1847 who married widow Ingeborg Kristine Gundersdatter Rønningen in 1838.

I have information on Ole Paulsen Rønningen and Anne Siren Amundsdatter´s forefathers

Kare,
Thanks so much for all your information. What we have at the moment on the forefathers is only:
Paul Olsen (father of Ole Paulsen) married Marthe Rolfsdatter 8 July 1770.
His father Ole Olsen b.9 March 1714, married Anne Paulsdatter 1743.
Ole Olsen parents Ole Tonsen married Gunhild Margarete Svensen 20 September 1712. Do not know if all of this is correct would like your input. We have nothing on Anne Sirene except born 14 January 1776.
On the children of Anders Olsen we have a Tollef b.29 March 1755 and Thore b.1765 are we confused? Did have him dying 18 March 1787.
We have the 1st daughter of Anders & Guri as Ingeborg Marie, b. 16 June 1776, cannot find a marriage.
Have sent this off quickly as a reply will now read, digest and enter what you have sent.
Thanks again so much.

Alan & Jillian.

Alan and Lillian.
You have much information on this family, I can add following.

Ole Olsen Ljøteruds father Ole Tovsen d about 1740, cottager on a sub farm under Ljøterud (Rønningen) married Ragnild Amundsdatter born about 1672 died 1710.
Children: Marthe b 1702 married Niels Toresen, lived on a farm under Muggerud.
Anund 1704, Tov 1707.

Ole married again in 1711 to widow Gunild Svendsdatter b. about 1675, died on Liøterud 1765, the funeral was in Hedenstad church Mai 26, right page right column 5. from top. age 90 here. Children: Ole 1712, Lars 1713.
The probate register after Ole Tovsen shows: Main building, one Stabbur (storing food, clothes, fur etc, the bottom construction/foundation secured from vermin/ pest), a "Bryggerhus" (smaller summer recidence, washing and brewing house), one Barn, one cowshead , one "Tørkehus" a house to dry the hay, all buildings in average conditions: Cattle 2 cows, 2 cheeps, one goat. Capital: Brutto 60 Riksdaler, Netto 40 Riksdaler.

It is two small waterfalls near the farms where the mill was build, the river is called "Ravaldsjøelva" named after "Ravaldsjø" Lake Ravald. The largest waterfall is called "Røningfossen" the Rønning waterfall.
Gunild Svendsdatter lived in "Møllerstua" Millers house as a widow with widow Anne Vrålsdatter Ljøterud 1694-1768 from about 1762. Anne Vrålsdatter was Torsten Johnsen Ljøterud 1729-1765 mother, my forfathers.

Ole Tovsen was most likley born to Tov Olsen died 1681 as a cottager, unknown wife. Two sons Ole and Ellef Tovsen b. 1674 on Ljøterud-eie (Rønningen).

The other branch:
Marthe Rolfsdatter who married Paul Olsen Rønningen in 1770 will has to wait until tomorrow.
There is much information about this family.
