Guess you know some of this?
Add information on Ole Paulsen 1771-1835 and his 2. wife Ingeborg Kristine Gundersdatter Muggerud 1791-1862.
Correct name on the farm was Muggerudhaugen.
Her father Gunder Hansen Muggerud bought the farm in 1827 from Peder Nilsen Finne, the first settler on Muggerudhaugen. In 1834 Ole Paulsen sold the farm to his firstborn son Anund Olsen 1798-1881.

Gunder Hansen Muggerudhagen 1747-1819 was from Søndre (Southern) Muggerud, he married 1789 Marthe Kristensdatter b.a. 1760. Children: Hans 1790 died young, Ingeborg Kristine 1791 (married Ole Paulsen), Hans 1792 inherit Søndre Muggerud, Barbra Marie 1795, Ole 1798 bought Søndre Muggerud from his brother Hans in 1832.

5 of Ole Gundersen´s gransons and a granddaughter (born to his son Hans 1823) emigrated to North America, Ole Hansen b. 1848 em. 1869, Tore Hansen 1850 em. 1869, Krisitian Hansen 1855 em. 1871, Johan 1858 em 1871, Anne Marie Hansdatter 1860 em. 1871 and Peder Hansen 1863 em. 1871.

The father Hans Gundersen Aannestad 1708-1787 cultivated a part of the farm from 1735 and owned Muggerud from 1741 (he married a daughter from Mugggerud Kristi Pedersdatter 1711-1750)
In 1775 Hans split Muggerud in two farms and two sons Peder and Gunder recieved each part, Gunder recieved Søndre Muggerud and Peder Midtre (Central) Muggerud.

Alan and Jillian, have you seen a picture or the location of the farm in Øvre (Upper) Sandsvær?
If not you can enter this map (guess you dont use the letters Æ-Ø-Å but that ´s ok, we can start at the old school house, Berg, I went there until I was 10)

Write following :
"berg skole skollenborg" and press SØK.
Rønningen is about 3 Miles south from the school along the "red" road going south, zoom minus 5 times and Muggerud and Ljøterud show up. Between those two farms you will see the road crossing the river.
200 yards further south is Rønningen. Zoom in, change to Foto and watch the farm. The living house is on the left side of the road, the other houses is Stabbur, Barn, Cowshead, "Bryggerhus" etc.
In 2007 all the forest south from Rønningen was removed for new farm land.
Left from Rønningen across the road you will se Hagen where a brother to Anders settled down.

Good luck.

Marthe Rolfsdatter came from a farm about 2 miles further south.

The family on Muggerud goes fare back to 1400, including new farms.

Hi.
Marthe Rolfsdatter was born about 1747 to Rolf Amundsen and Barbro Olsdatter in Øvre Sandsvær.
They lived on Olledalen, a sub farm under Lindaas.
Her parents Rolf Anundsen and Barbra Olsdatter and 5 siblings, Amund 1731, Gunnild 1732, Anne 1734, Ole 1736 and Morten 1739 came from Rollag about 60 Kilometer north from Kongsberg town in Numedal between1739 and -41 because a daughter Kari was born to Rolf Anundsen Lindaas Lindaas 1742, christened in Hedenstad church Mai. 15. Olledalen is about 1,5 Kilometer south from Rønningen and 15 Kilometer from Kongsberg.

In 1751 Rolf rented Olledalen for 2 Riksdaler a year from Herbrand Halstensen, he bought Olledalen in 1783 for 110 Riksdaler.

Rolf Anundsen and Barbra Olsdatter married in Rollag stave church June 9. 1731, see left page 8 couple from top here

The oldset son Anund b 1731 in Rollag d 1802 inherit Olledalen, he married Johanne Olsdatter in 1761. Olledalen was sold out from the family 1924 to Hjalmar Pedersen Hillestad after been owned by this family for 6 generations.

Marhe Rolfsdatter´s birth record isn´t found, she is metioned born 1744 an 1747.
Rolf Anudnsen Bagstevold got a daughter Marthe baptised in Hedenstad Dec. 3. 1747.
Bagstevold is not fare from Olledalen, could be they lived there for some years, Rolf Anundsen Bagstevold had a daughter Kari born 1742 (see abowe for Kari born 1742 on Lindaas) see lest page Hed 2. baptism Dom: Lactare Rolf Anundsen Bagstevolds Datter (Daughter) Marthe here
LDS records has she as Marthe Rolfsdatter born to Paul Olsen Rønningen.

The reason they left Rollag we dont know, but it was work to get in the silvermines as carpenters and miners.
Could be they made Charcoal and sold to the Forge belonged to the Silver mine company or for smelting silver in the smelting cabin.

They likley did on Rønningen 1829 when Ole Paulsen and Ingeborg Kristine Olsdatter Olsdatter´s oldest son Gunder Olsen Rønningen/Ljøterud died when the poor boy he fall into a "Coal mile" and died "Død i Kulmile" (see last column) only 16 years old on Dec. 14. 1839 #4

Rolf Anundsen and Barbro Olsdatter both died in Olledalen, the farm is named Nedre (Lower) Olledalen.

Rolf died 84 years old in 1782 as Rolv Anundsen Lindaas, the funeral in Hedenstad was on January 28, see right column 5. from bottom here

Barbra died 88 years old in 1790 as Barbara Olledahlen, the funeral was on June 5. in Hedenstad, see 1. column 5. from bottom here

Do you want the Muggerud records going back to 1400. It includes some transcripts from old documents written on parchment kept in Danish archives in Copenhagen?

Alan and Jillian.
The fathers are not mentioned, the two persons in the last column is the best men.
Ole Andersen age 30 and Maren Hendrichsdatter age 30 #19.
Dificult to read the farm names, looks like he was from Børdhuld, it was a Brødholt farm in the 1801 census from Stokke in Vestflod County.

One of the best men, Anders Olsen, was from Sandeherad, todays Sandfjord town, south from Stokke in Vestfold County.

You are welcome to return to Sandsvær and Anne Kristine Gundersdatter Muggerud (Ole Paulsen Rønningen´s 2. wife) at any time.
It´s one of the longest family trees in Sandsvær.

"Sandsværs Historie" written by Olav Såtvedt 8 volumes isn´t online.

You are right, I read it without abbrivations as:
Dominica Septuagesima Hedenstad Toff (Tov) Olsen huusmand.
2. Sunday before Shrovetide Sunday (Sunday Jan. 30) Hedenstad Tov Olsen cottager.

Tov Olsen was most likley born to Ole Sjulsen Bagstevold d. 1676 and Marthe d. 1674 (unknown last name)

Maybe I am way off, but I do not read the death record as being for Toff Olsen Huusmand. The reason - it continue with "og Gro Hillestads søsterdatter Anne Jonsdatters barnfødt af Hillerdal af Trærejet 25 Aar."
-is the burrial for Anne Jonsdatter then?
I also read for Dom Rogate Hed. "Toff Olsen -- lille barn" - Toff Olsen still alive?

I wondered if it was one or two funerals?
A first one for Tov Olsen and a 2. for Gro Hillestads "Sisterdaughter" Anne Jonsdatters child born in Hitterdal died on Trængen 1681 age 25.

Tov Olsen Bagstevolds little child was buried Mai. 5 and a daughter "Tovs Marthe" in 1683.

Not sure what the priest was meaning.
Gro Hillestad was married to Torbjørn Borgersen Hillestad and Gro´s "sisterdaughter" Anne Jonsdatter´s child was born in Hitterdal in Telemark.
