Hans Johansen "Klubben" was confirmed in Sogndal in 1805

Anders Johansen "Klubben" was confirmed in Sogndal in 1806

and Ragnhild Johanesdatter "Klubben" was confirmed in 1807

I've found a couple of wills from "Klubben", one in the Solvorn (in 1828) & the other in the Norum (never probated, dates 1800-1805) Skipreides. From a will that wasn't probated, under place I find "Klobben u. Nordness" in the Norum Skipreide. I found a couple of un-probated wills using "Klubben" as a surname & both had Nordness as their location.

There were 5 "Klubben" births in Sogndal from 1828-1833, no deaths & no marriages with Klubben shown as busted for either bride nor groom.

The only "Klubben" farms that I can find in any census were well outside of the Sogndahl Parish. They were in Davik, Evindvik, Gloppen, Hyllestad & Svanø, Kinn.

I'm stumped. Help!

Hans and Anders Johansen "Klubben" from the confirmation records appear on the Nordnæss farm in Sogndahl for the 1801 national census. Klubben is likely to be the name of a small "sub-farm" attached to Nordnæss farm. Therefore the Klubben name might not have been in consistent usage.

Perhaps the history of the area in the book "Sogndal Bygdebok: allmen bygdesoge tida før 1800" by Per Sandal would clarify that for you.

Yes, Klubben is a small farm under farm no 81 Nordnæs in Sogndal. Neighboring farms are Øygarden and Høl. This is in Norum "sub-parish" in Sogndal.

Thanks. Now that I've been shown that the people from there are in the census for Nordnæs in 1801, I'm probably barking up the wrong tree & my Ragnhild Johannesdatter continues to elude me.

If is wasn't for her will, I'd accept that the marriage record for her has an error.
