Oline Pedersdatter Birth Record translation assistance
I would appeciate it if someone could take a look at my G-Grandmother's birth record here and tell me
What is the word in front of father Peder Olsen Hjelmen's name?
What are the words in front of mother's name?
Whether you can make out any of the Godparents names? I think I see:
Esvig___Olsen Hjelman
Esvig Olava Olsdtr___
but not sure about this, can't make heads of tails of the rest. Any help would be gratefully accepted!

Hi Carra,

Since no one else has taken a stab, here is an attempt to be used only as a starting point please:

husman Peder Olsen Hjelmen
kone Marta Eriksdatter

Christopher Njelson Esvig
Ener Olson Halmon
Bert J Normandsdt
____ Christian Christofferson so Esvig
Olava Olsdtr Pens_____

The crosses written as part of a name are short for the crucifix = Christ. You should study the rest of the page to pickup the clerk's writing style and you may also enlarge this view in the box at the top--you are at 40% but 100% will help you seperate the letters etc.

Good Luck
Jackie M.

I read it as follows:
husman Peder Olsen Hjelmen - Huemd = Huesmand Peder Olsen Hjelmen
kone Marta Eriksdatter - Kone Marte Erieksdt = Eriksdatter

Christopher Njelson Esvig - Xtopher = Christopher Njelsen Esvig
Ener Olson Halmon - Eriek Olsen Hjelmen
Bert J Normandsdt - Berith St. Hermandsdt Kojer
Christian Christofferson so Esvig - Xtiane Xtophersdt = Christiane Christophersdatter Esvig
Olava Olsdtr Pens - Olava Olsdt Pukstad

Thanks very much both of you! I was thinking that the "Huemd" word was possibly a different occupation, and sure wasn't reading kone as kone!
Learned something new for me in the Xtiane and Xtopher ... appreciate the lesson! Thank you for the assistance! Carra
