I've found some info on the location from the census records:

Census year: 1865
Municipality: Nord-Aurdal
Municipality number: 0542
Name of domicile: Bakken

But I'm trying to find out a more specific location and any informaiton available on this location.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Nord-Aurdal is a municipality in Oppland county, west of Gjøvik and Lillehammer towns.

There is more than one "Bakken" in Nord Aurdal, which one are you interested in - or who lived there in 1865?

I believe Halvor Halvorson Nordager (1796-1851) and Anne Prestegaarden (1796-1860) with their children Knud (see below), Halvor, Nils, Juul, Erik and Syver lived there.

Per the 1865 census, Knud Halvorson (1818-1887) and Marit Oldsdatter with their children Anne, Berit and Maria are listed as living there.

Other info from the 1865 census record:
School distr: Præstegaarden
Local parish: Aurdal
Parish: N. Aurdal
Farm: Bakken

The small holding Bakken looks to be located under Nordre Aurdal Prestegård (Nordre Aurdal Rectory), which is located in the centre of Aurdal township in Norde-Aurdal, Oppland.

Excuse my interference, but if your Halvor Halvorsen was born at Nordager it seems like he was born in 1786 and baptized Dec 9, see this record
third Dreng from the top on left hand page.
Anne was born in 1796 and baptized June 12, the record
is the third Pige from bottom of right hand page. Her parents were Knud Brynjuelsen and Ingeborg Nielsdatter at Præstegaardsejet.
Knud was born on Nordagereie, see #33
Juul was also born on Nordagereie, see #3
and so was Syver, see #70
Halvor Halvorsen was still living at Nordager when he died in 1851, see #8

Thanks for the info. I think I'm one generation off. Halvor Halvorson Nordager's son, Halvor Halvorson Bakken (1821-1896) supposedly lived there prior to his emigration to America.

Juul Halvorson (1828-1903) is listed as living on the Vikene farm in the 1865 census. Is there anyway of knowing how close the Vikene, Bakken and Noraker farms are/were?

Thanks again for the help.
