HMy GGdad Svein Johannes/Svend Johannesen ? was born with his twin brother johannes, who died at the age of six, at this farm. I was wondering if anybody had a copy of the bygadebok and if they could give me any additional information or maybe photos if they were available? Thank you Jan

Hi,
Strand Historie- og Ęttesogelag (Strand History- and family saga society) might help you with this. Their pages are in Norwegian, but you'll find the email address to the board members here

Jan Alsvik wrote the bygdebok for Strand in Rogaland.

This is the same family we were tracking to Strand in Rogaland back in 2006, right?

You'll find Svein Johannesen in the 1865 census at Kvam
his twin brother is obviously dead but a new Johannes is among the siblings.
Their birth record is #22&23
Johannes death record is #16
he died June 12 1860.
Johanes Johannesen (34) and Anna Svennungsdatter (28) married June 30 1853, see #12
Annas father was Svennung Olsen Kvam.
Anna Svennungsdatter was born Sept 24 1823, see #12
her parents being Svennung Olsen and Sidsel Pedersdatter Kvam.
Annas brother Ole had Kvam in 1865
Johannes Johannesen was most likely born May 7 1819 at Hille, see #15
his parents were Johannes Gabrielsen and Helene Larsdatter.

To find a picture try Kvam
Stop the show with the mid button "II" - push the left arrow (slowly) until you come to the start of the show - then push 9 times more and you should have the picture of Kvam.
