I have Quanbeck relatives that I am trying to figure out what happened to the family members. The fathers name was Carl Quanbeck and he married Sophie. I think her maiden name would have been Anderson. I know that they had a son named Warren and I think they had a daughter named Ruth who got married. I think they had some more children too, but I don't know what there names are. I know that Carl left his family and Sophie had to raise the children alone. I would like to find out who Carl's parents and even his grandparents were. And also to find some information on these families. Any help would be appreciated! I really don't know any birth dates, but I do know that Sophie's father was born in 1864 so that helps give at least one date.

Most likely the parents of Carl W Quanbeck comes from one of the three Qvanbæk farms in Mo, Nordland. Without knowing some names or dates it is not likely that they can be found, too many emigrants from Mo around the actual years - 1860 - 1870?

Hi,

One other point of origin for Quanbeck is the place where Pastor Halvor Svenungsen Quanbeck was born according to Norske Prester i Amerika: "Seljord, Øvre Telemarken øst, Kristiansand..."

Yes there is a couple of farms in Seljord, but they write Kvanbeck or Kvambeck while the ones in Mo are Qvanbæk. Still, without knowing some names or dates it is not likely that they can be found.
