My name is Gary Anderson and I'm attempting to find the ship that my great great grandfather Inebrigt Andreasen Riisvigen 40
( Engibright Anderson) his wife Anna Frantzdatter Riisvigen 49
( Anna Frantz Anderson ) and there children Andreas Oluf Riisvigen 15 ( Andrew Olaf Anderson ) and his sister Olea Margrethe Ingibrigtsdatter Riisvigen 17 ( Lea Anderson ) arrived on. They were from Nord-Trondelag,Grong Parish Norway and if the citizen ship papers I have for Andrew are correct arrived in New York in August of 1881 , family verbal history calls for an 1882 or 1883 arrival date. I know that Riisvigen was there farm name but so far I have had no luck in finding the ship and or route they took in coming to America. Any help would be great.

Hard to find the right ship but we have some information.
Riisvig is a farm in Overhalla, a former sub paris in Grong.
Here is a map for Nord-Trøndelag. Overhallaa is west of Grong.

In 1865 the famiy lived on Naalfjeldhaug in Overhalla sub parish in Grong parish as cottagers and settlers with their daughter Olea M.(Margrete) age 1.

In 1867 they left Overhalla for Salsbruket in Nærøy parish north at the coast (see map), two children Olea Margrete age 5 and Andreas Oluf age 3, #32-35.

They emigrated from Salsbruket/Kolvereid on July 11. 1882 as Ingebrigt Riisvig born 1841 (Sept. 25.) and wife Anna Frantsdatter born 1832 (March 23.) and the children, top right page #12-15

The ship could be SS Tasso or SS Hero, dep port Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county via Christiansund and Bergen to Hull in England, no passengerlist found.
