Many thanks to Jan Peter, Diane Franco, and Einar Bache, but the information you gave doesn't connect with the Ole Jenson Winjum/Anna Stundahl family info that I have: Martha Winjum was born 20 July 1856 in Aurland, Norway. Her mother was Anna Knutsondatter and her father was Ole Jenson Winjum (Martha's death certificate information). She married Charles Erikson Steie (from Sogndal) in Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, Freeborn County, Minn.(July 6, 1875) I still need help. Thanks again, Luella |

In the note for "uægte børn" is written "Anmeldt ved Kirkesanger J. Larsen. Begges 1ste Leiermål. Legitimeret ved paafølgende Ægteskap" If the whole of this note is related to Marthes baptismal record, it would be expected that Anna Knudsdatter and Ole Jensen got married somewhere in a periode 1856 - 1860. You found them Kåre. Ole Jensen was confirmed in 1850, he was then 15 years old, see #13 his parents were Jens Olsen and Eli Olsdatter. See 1865 census as posted 14/11/2008 : 22:43:29 - some of this posting was wrong, but some was also correct. Ole was born May 2 1835, see #43

I want you to see where they came from. Aurland is a municipality south-east at Sognefjorden in Sogn og Fjordane county.
Undredal is a countryside-parish in Aurland, see the map. Farm Wangen and Winjum are located to Aurlandvangen across the fjord for Undredal and Stundal/Stondal is located to Aurlandsdalen. South of Aurlandsvangen you will see a freshwater lake named Vassbygdvatnet in Aurlandsdalen, in the southern part of the lake is Stondal.
Click Here, choose Aurland, aphabetically and watch pictures from Aurland including Undredal and Stondal

Thank you Kare and Einar. You have given me information which I will now put in a genealogical form with notes. I love those 'notes' that are included in the documents. I will have to have some more help in the near future--I don't know exactly what I need until I do some work on this information. Lue |

You are welcome. They arrived USA at the end of the civil war. The first emirgration to USA from Auraland was bachelor Iver Hansen Vinjum age 25 in 1843.
John (Torbjørnsen) Bell and Hans Olsen, both from Vinjum, participated in the civil war.
