On Marie Bertine bapt record I can hardly read the Godparents: Rasmus ----,-----, Kari-----, ------, Anna Pedersdatter Hielmeland, and Ragne-----Espe.??

Rasmus Rasmusen Espe, Abel Torjersen ibid (=Espe) (he was 6 years in 1801), Kari Guttormsdatter Havsaas, Anna Pedersdatter Hielmeland, Ragnele Torgersdatter Espe.

Thanks. I am trying to learn to read as much as possible. I do appreciate the teachings.

Is the name Girogen spelled another way?

Going back a little further in the thread, can you help me find the two children of Arne Olssen (spouse unknown) a Synneve Arnesdatter born abt 1787 and Brithe Arnesdatter born abt 1791 and maybe Arne's marriage record and birth record. Mentioned in the census above.

Also the birth records of Synneve Rasmusdatter and Ole Arnesen.
Thanks you very much.

1865 census for Knud Bergsen. Is Kari Jacobsdotter the mother of Brithe and also a widow living on a pension?

I assume you mean the 1801 census, no. 535 Kari Jacobsdtr is Enke efter 1ste Ægteskab (widow after 1st marriage) renting room and she is the wifes (Brithe Guttormsdatter) mother.

Three times I read the name Giorgen before I submitted it and it still went out backwards. This is my problem sometimes. Thanks you for understanding and giving me an explanation.

Synneve was baptized May 12 1786, see 2nd record right column, right hand page
parents Arne Olsen Giemmestad and Anna Arnesdatter.
Brithe was baptized May 14 1791, see 1st record in May right column, left hand page
I'm afraid the other records require more info/time than I have at present.

eibache,

Thanks you so much for the time you did share. I think I am almost done with this line for awhile. The only question I have at this time is how you knew that Gulbrand may have been in prision and if there is any more on that? If it is too much, I will understand. Thanks again.
