In the years 1885 - 1920 some of my relatives left USA to visit their families in Norway. Can anyone advise where to find passenger lists for travelers leaving USA with destination Norway (or Hull, Liverpool) in the said time window.

Hei Morten, you could also try to search the passenger lists the opposite way here returning back to USA to find out the correct year.
They would then most likely be recorded as American citizens.

Thank's a lot, Kċre

I've gone through your suggested links several times before, without any trace of the persons I know went back to Norway.
As far as I understand, the links you are referring to are all covering people leaving FROM Norway TO America, and this doesn't help me - unfortunately. I'll assume passenger lists of persons LEAVING US are the only way to find out, but are they available, somewhere?
However - Thanks for your reply!

There are no existing records fo passenger departing on ships from the USA that will help. The only place you could have som hope finding such information is in The British Board of Trade, BT26 - Passenger Lists, Inwards, 1878-1888 and 1890-1960. Read more
