Einar,
The Dina mentioned is the same Dina as on page 3 of this thread, Halvdan Alf Hansen born 11 May 1882 bapt 14 June 1882, Stokke, parents Hans Hansen & Samueline Margrethe Andersdatter Pedersen, the family Dina was living with in the 1900 census. We are looking for any information on Magnus.

Anton,
Thanks again for your help, the only information we know is his birth, cannot find him again in Norway and the mention of Halfdan going to his Uncle Magnus in Chicago in 1906 & the letter from Doris re with 3 children in 1907.
Also to Jackie thanks is there an age mentioned.

Thanks,

Alan & Jillian.

Hi to our American friends,

Have found a possible marriage of a Magnus Hansen to Karin Bensen, 23/8/1890 in La Salle. This would make Magnus about 35. Is there some way I could follow this through or find children born to them, nothing on IGI.
Thanks,
Alan & Jillian.

La Salle County, Illinois does have a History Website that has some information and also two names with e-mail addresses that you might be able to query for additonal information.

Hi to all,
All information on people mentioned are in previous pages.
We are now starting to receive translations of letters written over 100 years ago from Jorg Hansen to his sister Ingeborg ( married Anders Gunder Smerud in 1906) in Norway. These letters are with the family of Ingeborg and have been saved by a g/son. Where we could find no more trace of Anna Ditelfine Olafsen (see previous pages), we find that she was living in Moss with a husband in 1907. After some further reaseach we have now traced her marriage on 24 July 1904 Tonsberg to Ole Johansen Gillingsrod from Raade born 1872, father Johansen Olsen. Could someone please help with where is Raade, is it a farm? Cannot trace any children being born in Tonsberg. There is further information on Magnus Hansen in Chicargo marrying a pretty lady, unfortunatley the rest of letter is missing. Also he is with Jorgen? A lot further rearch is now on the way. Any help with Raade appreciated.

Alan & Jillian.

Ole Johansens father was Johan Olsen.
Ole was born Nov 6 and baptized Dec 15 1872, see #68 his mother was Gunila Jørgensdatter. The father Johan Olsen was the owner of Gillingsrød.

At the top of the scanned image page is an option labeled "Bildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Image Information"[English version] which is by default set to "Ingen" [Norwegian version]/"None" [English version]. Change that and magic is available. Of the three options I like "Øverst" [Norwegian version]/"On top" [English version] because it puts the additional information across the top of the page and is usually easier for me to see.

The first line "Kildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Source information" [English version] is a really nice summary of the source of the information and is wonderful to have for making detailed source citations, footnotes, etc.

Hi to all,

Following through on Ingeborg's marriage to Anders Gundersen Smerud, have found the banns, Brandbu 19/9, 16/9 1906. Would some one please translate these for me, also cannot find the marriage or the children Anders, b 1907 or Kari b 1908 or any other children. Would also like to read up on the Smerud farm on line if possible. Is there a site I could go into? Have found the Confirmation of the 3rd child Astrid 6th October 1929, gives birth 7th January 1914, bapt 22nd February 1914.
Any help again is very much appreciated.

Alan.
