Hi

Well, swing and a couple of misses. There was no obit in Rowberg for either of the two girls but there were two obits for Glorwicks--one was for an Adolph who was a brother of Otto. There was an obit for a J.K. Easthagen but the wife, who survived, was not named. So don't know if its the correct family or not. I was hopeful to find obits for the girls in a Norwegian language paper, since that kind of paper would be likeliest to report immigration info, but not to be.

Hilsen,
Jackie M.

Hi , Something got show up. Its always hiding or not clicking oneway or the other. Here is the dates : John O Easthagen August 17,1909 Otto Gkorvick died July22,1933. They all died in Minneasota as well buried. It would be neat to know what part of Norway both Otto and John came from. Thanks again Kim

Hi,

The obit for Adolph Glorvick (brother of Otto, Minneapolis Tidende 6 Aug 1922) says he was from Solør, Norway and the obit for J.K. Easthagen (Minneapolis Tidende 14 Jan 1921) says he was born in Kristiania.

Hilsen,
Jackie M.

Glorvigen farms can be found at Aasnes in Hedmark. One Adolf Olsen was 2 years in 1865. He has an older brother Otto 7 years old in 1865.
Easthagen is most likely Østhagen, farm can be found at Aamodt in Hedmark.

Hi,
The telling for Aasnes makes sence.I have where he was born 1859 and solor could be the last place where Adolf last lived. Hedmark is close to kristianaiabut he year off . I'm looking for 1909. John was also born June of 1859 as well. I will continue to search John O. Easthagen( Osthagen). Thanks Kim

Hi
Just to let everyone know that Aasnaes parish records were not preserved and isn't in the the archives. But you can find Aasnaes in the 1865 census.

Actually most of those parish records are preserved and available for research purposes.

"Aasnaes" should be written as Åsnes. The Digitalarkivet collection of digitized church records lists Åsnes records for the time period starting in 1866. Åsnes vas separated from Hof clerical district in 1848 when Åsnes became its own clerical district, and included Våler parish until 1854 when Våler became its own clerical district. Some of the oldest parish records for Åsnes clerical district were destroyed by fire in 1929.

For Åsnes parish records earlier than 1848 see Hof clerical district.

The Åsnes area is also documented in two published history/genealogy works: "Åsnesboka", 2 volumes (author unknown). "Øvre Solør: Alminnelig Historie" 2 volumes by Håvard Skirbekk.
