Birkemo, Birkemon, Birkemoen is the nam of the same farm written in indefinite form or definite form. Birk = birch, mo = heath. In the 1865 census Askild Tĝnnesen was living on one of 9 Birkemoe farms, He had 1 horse, 5 cattle, 16 sheep and 6 goats - should indicate the size of the farm. |

Askild Tĝnnesen had a brother Peder baptised feb. 16. 1834, they both lived on Birkemo farm in 1886, Askild on 247b and Peder on 248b, see here
Askild either died between 1886 and 1900 or did he emigrate? Peder Tĝnnesen lived on Birkemoen as a farmer in 1900 in the main building, married, only he is recorded.

To Kċre, I read Askidl's(#7) death date as" 30 sep?"(in the first column) 1889 on Birkemo. Would you check this? What are the dates in the next columns under Naar- Buried?.....and .... Would you be so kind as to give me a translation of the column headings and the info in each for #7 Askild? Thank you so very much, Dennis |

On the top header at arkivverket you have some shortcuts. Select "Image information" On Top.
Then select the "Permanent pagelink" URL when you post here.

Thank you all for the responses. The problem I was having with the hyperlink was: you were giving me english words when the header was in Norwegian. And I cannot find a way to change it to English. Is there a way to change the arkivverket page to english? |
