With your information I found the passage record on ancestry.com. See below. Unfortunately the passenger manifest lists the passengers as Baard Anderson Klukken, wife and two children. But does not name the wife or children.

Name: Board Anderson Klukken
Date of Arrival: 1869
Vessel: New Brunswick
Search Ship Database: View the 'New Brunswick' in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: Quebec

It is reasonable to rely on the names in my posting of 17/07/2009 : 19:46:12.

please note that for #7 Baard Andersen Klukken it says in the column for "addition" - "From Verdal, born Jan. 8, 1841, see below " - follow this recommendation and go down the page and you will find the names of the wife (Martha Olsdatter Klukken* - b. June 21, 1843, wife - Verdal) and the two children (Sephanias Baardsen* Klukken* - b. Apr. 6 1862 - Verdal and Anders Baardsen* Klukken* - b. Apr. 14, 1867 - Verdal) in other words QED.

The Charles found in the 1900 census is very likely who I'm looking for because I have a list of Anna and Steffen's children and the are Olga, Paula, Guida, Bina (Sophie B.?) Severin, Arthur, Bennie, and Alice. So the last three were not part of the family yet. This is probably him! I wonder when he died...

In the 1910 census it says that Anna is married, but she has no husband...
In the 1920 census she is remarried to OS Restan; she is listed as a widow and he is a widower...
So what happened to Charles?

He could have died between 1900 and 1910, but I was not able to find a good match in the South Dakota Death Index. It unfortunately only covers deaths past 1905.
