Im looking for Johannes Carlsen (age 20) departed with the Argo from Christiania on the 30. of july 1869 heading for Chicago. He was travelling with Johan Henriksen (age 42) also headed for Chicago.
Can anyone tell me which ship they departed with (from England) and when they arrived (Queebeck ?)

Hello Vidarv
What you should do is to check what agent or what Line (linie) he bought his ticket from. When you find that it will narrow the search a lot. You will find this kind of information in the Christiania police emigration records (Emigrantprotokoll). It might not be included in the online version at the Digitalarkivet, so you may have to check the original source. When you find this information and post it here I will try to point you in the right direction.

Hello Vidar,

My grandmother and her 5 children sailed on the Argo from Oslo to Liverpool on 23 Apr 1869. From Liverpool to Quebec they sailed on the S. S. Moravian, departing 06 May 1869 and arriving in Quebec on 17 May 1869.
