Do any members here know about similar FORUMS for Swedish, Danish &/OR German emigration?

In less than 1 day after joining I have incrementally found lots of most probable information about my ancestry and was able to extend it back another 50 or more years, but with leads to many more years of genetic background.

Perhaps just one week ago I was under the impression I was 1/2 Swedish, and 1/4 each of German and Norwegian. I am still 1/4 Norwegian, but my understanding of the other 3/4 has become more complex, adding Danish ancestry, which I had guessed at, but probably old American Scots-Irish, not really known much about before.

I hope nobody considers this post too OFF TOPIC, because others with Norwegian ancestry might have similar ancestry, and also at this point of less than 24 hour forum membership, I only have the experience of this thread area (by way of self justification!).

Check at Cyndi's List [cyndislist.com] under the subject heading for each of those countries. Her collection of genealogy related weblinks is HUGE!

Thank you very much, once again!

I am overwhelmed by the quality and timeliness of the responses here, and doubt I will be able to experience anything similar elsewhere, however.

I will do what you recommend! I am not certain, but perhaps I found this forum there as I was at Cyndi's List recently, and may have been a few other times over the years as it is one of the Top Rated Genealogy Web Sites on the Web and pointers are often found to it!

Also try Rootsweb.com and go into Index and you will be able to find many different forums. Yes, this is an exceptionally nice forum.
