I am searching for genealogy on Erik Kristian Johnsen, b. 1863 in Stavanger, Norway and died in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1923. He was a Luthern minister and professor at Luthern Seminary in St. Paul. I think he married Amunda Sorensen in Norway and they emigrated to the U.S. I don't know who his father is (possibly Erik) or anything about the family or older generations. Would appreciate anything you can offer. Rolf

Erik Kristian Johnsen and Amunda Jørgine Sørensen were married Jan 19 1892, see #3.
His baptismal record is #6 - mother Else Christine née Finkelsen.

Erich Christian, his parents and a brother in 1865.

Erich Christians mother, Else Christine, was born March 2 and baptized March 16 1828, see #6
Her parents were captain Finchel Finchelsen and Oline Carlsdatter.

The father, Erich Johnsen, is most likely the one baptized April 11 1805, see #36. His parents were John Erichsen and Rachel Olsdatter.

Hi,

From Norsk Lutherske Prester i Amerika, 1843-1915 page 284 story says that Erik Kristian Johnsen was born 20 Sept 1863, in Stavanger, Kristiansand, ordained in 1897. His wife is mentioned as "Amunda Sørenson", married in 1892 and she died 1912. His second wife is mentioned as Helene Nilsen and he married her in 1915. The story has a lot of information about his schooling, and occupation.
