What happend to Johan Martin Billington?

He was born in Fredrikstad 24 November 1879. I know he moved to USA (early 1900 i believe). He was a sailor. But I have not been able to find more about him.
Where did he live, did he marrie, did he got children or when di he die.
He was a younger brother of my grandfather Karl Kristian Fredrik Billington,

I`ll be greatful for all your help.

On searching Ancestry.com, one name does come up. A Martin Billington. He does not appear in the passenger list, but in a separate list which I would think is a crew list. The ship is the Santa Luisa.

Name: Martin Billington
Age: 41
Birth Date: abt 1880
Arrival Date: 9 Feb 1921
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Destination: New York, New York
Ship Name: Santa

Thank you.

All Billington`s in Norway are related. I got my hands on the Billington-book by Sverre Bolstad from about 1970. I`ve found out that it is not complete. So i deside to follow some loose ends.

All Billington`s from Norway will be of my interest.

Johan Martins brother wrote down that he left for USA because a paternity case. He could be on a crew list. He and most of his family were sailors.
A Martin from Norway? Could Matrin be a wrong spelling?

I have got in touch with another of his brothers family. Fredrik Timan Billington moved to New Zealand. I managed to get contact by using Facebook. Amazing and fun.

Matrin could be a mispelling of Martin, it would have been done by the orginal census taker, since if you look at the original census form it is clearly spelled Matrin there. Also the year of immigration is given as 1918 and the occupation is given as farmer. Making it even less likely that the two men listed above are the same person.

I know.
But don`t forget Amalie Malene 4 Okt 1873
Karl Kristian Fredrik was my grand-father.
Johan Martin is the missing person, Fredrik Timan moved to NZ.
I`ve manage to get in touch with his descendant by using Facebook.
I`ve started a group on FB called Billington, and hope we all can have a gathering one day.

Timan was nr.10
Elevine was nr. 11
