Sigvart's sister Klara Augusta (?), born August 12, 1905 and baptized October 8, 1905. They are listed as living on Hongsand. The 1900 Census had them living on Hongsanden, so it's probably the same place.

Wow! You guys are amazing at this. I honestly didn't expect to find anything. The dates add up. Sigvart was 30 in 1929 and would've been 42 in 1941. That's how old "Sigvart" was when my father in law was born. I am a little confused by Rassonta though. His wife Rosetta, was born in New Orleans. Could I look to see if Rassonta was his wife or just someone he knew? I am in shock, there is NO WAY I would've found this. Thank you, thank you!!

I was wondering about that too! I believe the 1930 Census said that he immigrated in 1925, so was wondering if Rosetta could have traveled with him to Cuba, since he was listed as a Seaman? I wouldn't worry about the difference in spelling between Rassonta and Rosetta. There are always slight differences in records as you saw with his name on the Census record. Do you have a marriage date for them? That would probably help you to put the pieces together. I searched through 1919 in the Roan in Bjørnør, Sør-Trøndelag, parish records for more children. They could of had some more children after that, but that was all I had time to search today. Hopefully, someone else will pick it up.

Good luck with your research. You've found yourself a large family! :-)

Tusen takk to both Einar and Kåre for help with the spelling of names. I always seem to have problems with H's and K's.

Peder Christian Johnsen and Christiane Pedersdatter were married July 27 1841, see #4
Peder Christian was then 40 years old, born at Morsdahl under Skougvold, and his father was John Pedersen.
Christiane was 35 years, born at Sør Findsæt, and her father was Peder Andersen. (Both fathers seem to be dead).
Christianes parents Per (=Peder) Andersen Finsæt and Anne Christensdatter were married Dec 30 1800, see last record in left column on left page

I said it yesterday, and I'll say it again, you guys are really good at this. I've spent all day trying to find a marriage application for Rosetta and Sigvart, but I haven't found it yet. I know that would help clear up the last bit of my questions.

This is my idea from the information you've given me. I think he came over here earlier than 1929, maybe 1925 or so. He came straight to Louisiana and met Rosetta. From there, maybe he was a seaman until their first child was born in 1934. She may have travelled with him on occasion. That would explain everything. As far as him being a stowaway, maybe he told Rosetta he was one and had to keep the story going!! As soon as I can get a date of their marriage and if it has any parents listed, I will let you know.

Thanks again- this is a fantastic site!!
