Hi
I am trying to help a friend getting some information about Trygve Bakkerud, born in Kristiania (Oslo, Norway) in 1893.
He emigrated to USA or Canada (most likely to Canada)….
and – that is all the information we have.
If someone is able to help, we would be most grateful

This might be him immigratng to Canada from Norway, taken from Ancestry.com. In the column for nearest relative from your country, he has listed: Grunvold, O. Aker, Norway.
Name: Trygve Bakkerud
Gender: Male
Age: 33
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1893
Birth Country: Norway
Date of Arrival: 24 Nov 1926
Vessel: Stavangerfjord

there's only one person with that name in the 1900 Census:

I had a brief look for him at the Emigrant Archives, could not find him.
However, it looks like he arrived Halifax:
