- Willim Mortensen was the father of Anne Sofie Clausdatters mother, different spellings occur very often.
Bergitte Willumsdatter = Bergitte Maria Vellumsdatter - father Willim Mortensen = Velum Mortensen.
He was baptized Willum July 1 1792, see second record left page. His father was Morten Andersen (ref name above) at Øyorden.
Morten Andersen, his wife Beret Andersdatter and their 7 children in 1801.

Anna K. Jonasdtr was a widow at Lokøen in 1801.
anne M Rasmudsdtr was Petter Pedersens (possibly Petter K. Pedersen above) wife at Ramberg in 1801.
Soren Cortsen 1755-1804 (possibly Karin S. Jakobsdtr. husband) was at Skaarvaagen in 1801. (Anne sorensdtr 1793-1876) is most likely their daughter Ane Sofie in the 1801 census.
Question is: How do they fit in with your ancestors?

Hi Lori.
There were several farms named Hole in Bø.
I do not know the the different names that separeted the farms, could be for example Northern Hole, Middle Hole, Lower Hole, Upper Hole etc.
Your family lived on Østre (Eastern) Hole in 1900.

Gimstad was not changed, in 1900 there were 13 farms named Gimstad in Bø.

Hi.
Lokøen, current Lokkøya (øen or øya means island) is a small countryside on a peninsula south-east in Bø municipality.

All 5 images are from Lokøen, in photo nr 1 the farm Lokøen is positioned slightly to the right of center.
The page include a map "Se kart"

The farm is metioned in Archbishop Aslak Bolt´s farm register from about 1440 spelled Leckøenn. The origin of Lokøen is a mystery full name with many interpretations

Hi,
Anne Sofie emigrated with Danish Thingvalla Line via Oslo, dest Sanborn Iowa, the tickets were paid for in Trondheim.
Oldest daughter Mathilde Martinussen is registered further down (nr 58709), same dest, age 18, see Sofie Clausen, Karen (Kaurin) and Petra here

Does it exist an 1890 census for Sandborn?
Could be they are registerd there, perhaps Anne Sofies brother Kristian Clausen Berg lived there too.

Mathilde Martinusdatter should be born about 1871 Einar, not found, could be interesting to see if it was her father who emigrated in 1889.
