If you are talking about the same Lars Knudsen, son of Knudt Arnesen and discussed in the following thread on another message system -

Lars Knudsen was from Ål in Hallingdal Doug, born on Sorteberg Oct. 11, bap. Nov. 8. 1846, see #86
