I am looking for information on my great grandparents listed above. My grandfather, Johan Severin Terkelsen was born in Hafstad, Aust Agder on June 2, 1836 and Sidsel Johannesdtr was born in Morefjaer in 1836, they were married in 1863. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have found the records for Johan S. Terkelsen's birth and his children's birth records, but cannot find anything on his parents.

I assume this would be Johan Severin in census-1866?
You say that he married Sidsel Johannesdr, but wasn't that his mother?
See chr. record #66.

Could this be his parents?
Farm = Mørrefjær østre, and mother name is correct. But husband is listed as Torkeld Alfsen, not Olsen,,,

Thank you Jan Peter, and Harald Storaker, you are corect Jan Peter, his mother was Sidsel Johannesdr, for some reason I put the wrong name, I knew he was married to Thobine Hellingsdatter, but I didn't know where she was born nor the names of her parents. This helps me put more information into my family tree.

Is there a bygdebok for Lyndal available, I would like to find out more about Helling's ancestors.

Johan Severin Terkildsen and Thobine Hellingsdatter who married in 1863 had their firs child Sesila Mathilde Marie Aug 4 1864, see #41, their second child was Thorvald Severin Sept 22 1865, see #94.
Among the Godparents for the two first children is Christine Terkildsdatter, Alf Terkildsen, Thea Sophie Terkildsdatter and Terkild Alfsen!
The 1865 census put up by Jan Peter looks right then for Johan Severins parents and siblings.
Terkel Alfsen (or Terchel Olsen) and Sidsel Johansdatter were married May 25 1834, see #18
Johan Severin by the way was born at Mørefjær, he was living at Havstad/Hafstad when the two first children were born.)

The series of Bygdebøker for Lyngdal can be seen here. As Harald (hasto) mentions above your interest is in Lyngdal I.

Tusen Takk for alt, I appreciate all of your help, it certainly does help me put the family tree together. Do you know where I can purchase a Bygdeboke for Lyngdal. Also, is Morefjaer and Havstad/Hafstad communities or farms?

Mørrefjær and Havstad was farms in the days you're looking at. The farms are gone, and there is today residential areas on those properties, just east of downtown Arendal, Aust-Agder

Tusen Takk, I appreciate all your posts. Sometimes it is hard for me to read the names in the church registers, so I appreciate the information. I though that Morrefjaer and Havstad were farms, but I wasn't positive. Again, Tusen Takk for all your help.
