Which years and parish books of the Gran birth/baptismal records have you already checked? I'd be willing to search also - but I'm not interested in searching things that have already been proven to not have the information desired.

The records for neighboring Jevnaker should also be checked if the Gran records are not productive.

At the Digitalarkivet they have databases:
Døpte i Gran 1787 - 1804
Døpte i Gran 1804 - 1815
Døpte i Gran 1815 - 1824
Døpte i Gran 1824 - 1842
Døpte i Gran 1842 - 1856
Døpte i Gran 1875 - 1879
etc. etc.

From the marriage record you linked we expect Torger and Kari to both be born "about" 1825. So should be included in the databases already available. The names of the bridal couples from the marriage record: Groom's father: Ole Ellingsen Bride's father: Peder Pedersen.

So to the databases for the baptisms in Gran -
Ole Ellingsen's son born in1825 named Torger -
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=24&filnamn=Dp05341824&gardpostnr=123&sokefelt=skjul

That entry tells exactly where in the scanned parish records to look to get the record.

Don't want to cheat you out of the joy of discovery for yourself -- you can continue from there.

You must have missed Torger. Do you need a link back to the good instruction about the Norwegian church records again?

Agreed! Congratulations! (Whooping, hollering and some dancing are allowed for celebration.)

Now are your skills good enough to search the databases for Kari?

If not, I could try to talk you into (or through) a search of those databases.... hopefully successful.

Doug - I looked at a "Holmen" farm in Gran (a farm mentioned on the marriage record for Kari) - 1865 census. VERY INTERESTING family living there. Take a peek.

Holmen farm in 1865 Norwegian census for Gran, Oppland

Digitalarkivet -- Click on 1865 on the blue banner across the upper part of the window.
In frame for "Select database" pull down County to equal Oppland.
Click on blue link "1865-telling for 0534 Gran"
In selection entry spaces for "New farm search" -- Space "A" - pull down "Farm"; Space "B" - pull down "starts with (show)"; Space "C" - type in "h" or "H"; Click on SEARCH button.
Slide down the list offered of farm names beginning with "H" and click in the selection box to the left of "holmen" and click on SEARCH button at the bottom of the list.
Click on the blue number at the left side of the first Holmen farm offered to see the 1865 census for that farm.

No, I don't think that is your Kari in that birth/baptismal record. Her marriage record listed her father as Peder Pedersen --- not Peder Olsen.
I think you'll find YOUR Kari was born in 1827.
