Since Caroline was a widow when she and Anders married, perhaps she had this little boy and he took Andres last name ???? Sounds good to me.

Did Axel also emigrate to the US?
One Axel Thomassen (18), arrived New York on Apr 11, 1892 on the ship "The Servia", sailing from Liverpool & Queenstown.
His destination reads Chicago, Illinois. He left Oslo on March 25th, 1892, and is listed as a saddlemaker from Drammen.

The family story is that Axel was in the Boxer Rebellion in China that was1898 - 1901. According to the story Axel stormed out of a temple and took one of the idols. My mother still has it. Its ugly. People always wanted to know where we got it, being Lutheran and the story was told about old uncle Axel. Don't know if he even made it to the US.
My next quest is to find our what happened to Thomas' oldest son Andrew who was born before he married Eugenia. His mother died in child birth. He was raised by a family member on his mothers side. Then Thomas married Eugenia they had aunt Alice and my grandpa Arthur.
Thank you
I appreciate everything you have found from Norway. My uncle was going to pay for a trip there for me so I could look up all this and if you don't speak the language your kind of in trouble. This was much better for me, however, I hope to visit someday it sure looks beautiful and peaceful.

At the age of 12, Andrew lives with his father Thomas and wife Eugenia in Chicago in census-1900.

I don't think that is the correct Andrew because his fathers birthplace was Norway and we no nothing about his mother except she died in child birth.

- very difficult and time consuming, if at possible.
The 1900-census did not give any results.

Not the right Andrew Thompson. Father born Norway. Andrew was born in 1888 Nov. It lists Eugenia as his mother in 1910 census, his mother died in child birth. I lost him after that census. My mom is trying to remember where he lived and his wifes name.
Thanks to all of you who have helped me get this far
