Thanks again! Ingeborgt Ottersdatter, by thge way, had two daughters (and a son, whoi also emigrated with his mother in 1900). The daughters were "our" Mary and Hilda Sofie Isaksdatter, who emigrated in 1905 (same as Mary) - with same destination (Ransom county). How to find out what happened to Hilda Sofie over there? Got married? Had children? So far it's in the dark. Also, the father of Mary's and Ole's daughter Ingeborg (probably born in Norway) - is so far unknown. Have a nice day, lyndal40...

This could be the immigration arrival record for Ingeborg and her son. She is travelling with her son 8 years old , first name hard to read, last name Johnson. They are going to visit Svert Olson of Fort Ransom.

Arrival Date: 25 May 1900
Age: 48

When I searched the 1910 US Census for the above Olaf Johnson I could not find him under Olaf Johnson. When I left off the first name this Johnson came up. Note he is living with Ole A and Marie Olson. Could this be the same as the son of Ingeborg?

Dear all, most recent information about Ingeborg Ottersdatter .- who wasn't traced so far after immigration in 1900. She ultimately got married: Married 1902 to Edvard J. Anderson (B. 1847) in North Dakota, USA
Died in USA
I don't know if the couple managed to have children, but husband Edvard had a daughter, Laura Anderson - born 1898 (before the arrival of Ingeborg in America). Could anyone trace the possible descendants of Laura Anderson who might have "news" about the fate of Ingeborg as well....?

Here is the 1910 US Census for the family of Edvard Anderson and wife Ingeborg. The only child appears to be Laura. Since both Edvard and Ingeborg are quite old, I would say the chance of a child of theirs is not good.

Name: Edvard J Anderson
Age in 1910: 62
Estimated birth year: abt 1848
Birthplace: Norway
Relation to Head of House: Head
Father's Birth Place: Norway
Mother's Birth Place: Norway
Spouse's name: Ingeborg
Home in 1910: Northland, Ransom, North Dakota
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Gender: Male
Year of Immigration: 1893

Household Members: Name Age
Edvard J Anderson 62
Ingeborg Anderson 59
Laura Anderson 11

This might be the same Laura Anderson. She is listed as niece, thus living with her aunt and uncle, Uncle is perhaps Peder Anderson?

Concerning the family of Christiana Anderson, there is a Family Tree on Ancestry.com for this family. However it is most directly concerned with Anton C Anderson and only briefly mentions Edwrd J Anderson and does not give any further information on him. No wife or daughter are listed. I will send the owner of the Family Tree an e-mail through Ancestry.com to see if she has any further information on Edward J Anderson to see if we can determine if he is the same as Edvard Anderson farther of Laura.

I am forever greatful. If possible, your valuable efforts may ultimately shed light over what happened to Ingeborg before and after she married Edvard J. Anderson. All the best to you!

Here is the reply to my e-mail about Edward Anderson. I do not think there is much more to be found out from this source.

This is my children's Grandmother Minnie Constance Anderson's family. Connie was 2nd generation American from Norway. She was from Fort Ransom ND and her parents were Anton Anderson and Inga Highness, I dont remember what year they migrated. Edward J Anderson was born in Norway in 1847. I couldnt find any other information except the 1900 census that list him with Carrie Anderson.

A little more information from the owner of the Ancestry.com Family Tree.

Anton Anderson was from Tromso Norway, a fairly large city, and I believe north of the Artic Circle. He married Inga Highness, a woman who worked in his home in ND.
Edward J Anderson was the older brother of Anton Anderson
Christiana was their mothers name and she was born in 1817.

Hi lyndal40, this means you have managed to trace the husband of Ingeborg in ND! Fantastic! Who could now be able to put me in touch with his family - in Tromsų or ND? Or HOW can I make myself able to do it? His family may have very valuable info in Ingeborg's life over there...

I will send another e-mail to early_ann through Ancestry.com asking her to contact you through your norwayheritage.com e-mail. Alternatively you could also contact her through Ancestry.com if you or someone you know ie local library etc. has access to Ancestry.com.
